There are a lot of ideas or assumptions built into baptism—some of which we’ve birthed on our own; others we’ve brought with us from childhood. What’s it all mean?
Is it some mechanism for the remission of sins?
Is it a “Get-right” card with God?
Some think it’s a mandate for membership into “The Club.”
Perhaps it’s a divine insurance policy for people who want to be prepared/protected against the unexpected so that in the event someone passes, the baptism certificate is proof that our ticket is punched for Paradise City and not somewhere south.

If all of those concepts are correct, the waters become even more muddy when we see JESUS WADING into them….WHOA! What’s THAT all about and WHY?
Could it be that His WADING there means the WORLD to us? Could it be that baptism means more than we ever would have imagined?

On this Baptism of the Lord Sunday, join Rev. Jake Steele and CUMC as they canvass two things that you don’t want to miss.

Matthew 3: 13-17
