Judy Allison grew up in Newell, WV where she graduated from Wells High School in 1960. She went on to nursing school at OVGH in Wheeling, graduating in 1963. After marrying Jim Allison, who was a Bethany College Professor, she worked at the College Health Service for about 35 years.
She began taking classes at West Liberty University and received a Regent’s Degree focusing on music in 1997. About that same time, she began accompanying the WLU students and choirs…and did so for 20 years. She also has accompanied many musicals in the Ohio Valley, the Bethany College Choir and the Choir at The Linsly School.
She was the organist at Bethany Memorial Church for 40 years. She left there to become the organist at CUMC in September 2013.
She has 3 children: Kim, who is married to David Douglass, lives in Wheeling and teaches Elementary Music in Brooke County. Jeff, who lives in Wintersville, OH and works at the Walmart Distribution Center. He has 3 sons, Cody, Eddie and Sammy. Tracy is married to Jacen Schaedler and teaches pre-school at Head Start in Tucson AZ.
