If we thought the first Christmas couldn’t get any more chaotic…

…an escape to Egypt is involved and all Mary and Joseph could see (at the time) was the inconvenience of it all.  For all intents and purposes, going to Egypt felt like they were regressing, not progressing.  

They ultimately wouldn’t see it as a sign that God was redeeming the past and preparing them for the future until they looked back. Perhaps the same can be said of us.  How could God be doing something great in life when we don’t feel good in life?
