Before anyone had a chance to hail hosanna…

Prior to that powerful, yet peculiar procession; prior to the people proclaiming a new king, the events that we now recognize at Palm Sunday were prefaced by plain preparations.  The Lord makes a rather routine, run-of-the-mill request that obedient hands took and ran with.  It’s often the smallest of things done in faith that prepare a way for the most significant.

The same is true of us and our path of discipleship.
