On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended upon a group of diverse people and they began to understand each other’s languages. Many people were confused, some were awed, others joked it was because of the wine. They thought what they were experiencing was odd for they didn’t know that it was God. Even today, it can seem odd to see diverse groups of people come together in harmony. The Holy Spirit does this. It is the common glue that binds us together for it has the capacity to break down barriers. It may look and feel odd, but in world that is desperate for change, we need odd more than we’ll ever know.
Join Rev. Jake Steele and CUMC as we examine the book of Acts and find how to be a people that are “Out to be Odd”.
