Wow, what an incredible year we had at V.B.S.! Children and folks from Christ United Methodist Church, First Christian Disciples of Christ, St. Michael’s Church, and Vance Presbyterian Church celebrated the word of God with music, crafts, recreation, biblical stories, and snacks.

This five-day fantastic event, centered around the story of Daniel and his adventures in Babylon, would not have been made possible without the help of our volunteers. We thank them so much for all the work they put in and for showing our little ones the love God has for every one of us. We also thank the parents for bringing their kids to V.B.S. and hope to see you all again next year.

Check out the video below on all the fun we had:

Christ United Methodist Church, First Christian Disciples of Christ, St. Michael’s Church, and Vance Presbyterian Church will gather as one to sponsor an interactive and creative VBS that features music, crafts, recreation, biblical stories, and snacks.

FAMILIES ARE INVITED TO BABYLON: DANIEL’S COURAGE IN CAPTIVITY

A summer family event called Babylon will be hosted at Christ United Methodist Church, Wheeling, WV from Sunday, July 9th to Thursday, July 13th, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. for children ages 3-11. Families step back in time to Babylon, exploring Daniel’s adventures in a foreign land. Kids and adults participate in a memorable Bible-times Marketplace, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into Bible-times snacks, visit Daniel, and collect Bible Memory Makers to remind them of God’s Word. Plus, everyone learns to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes at Celebration—a time of upbeat worship that gets everyone involved.

The children will be collecting school supplies during the week of VBS. If you have not yet registered your child or children for this year’s VBS, please do so by calling Christ UMC at 304-242-2455 or by registering at the door at the commencement of VBS on Sunday, July 9th.

To enable us to put on such an event, volunteers are needed. In the Narthex a sign-up sheet is posted for members of the congregation to place their name beside a position for which they would like to volunteer. If you have a question concerning any of the positions, please see Cheryl Sprague or email her at cherylsprague012@gmail.com.
