As the days become shorter and the air cooler, we are reminded that winter is on its way. Although we may not be thinking of the holidays as we watch the leaves begin to change, we know Advent will arrive faster than we can sing, “O Come, O Come Emmanual.” Advent is the season to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ and to give graciously to others “…for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7. At Christ UMC, several holiday fundraisers are held before and during the Advent season to ensure those in need in our community have a wonderful Christmas every year. If you are looking for ways to give back this holiday season, below are a few current opportunities to do so. Stay tuned for more opportunities to give as Advent approaches.
