Hi Kids!
Today we’re going to hear a story about a time the Israelites need help, which came from a very unlikely person. After the Israelites left Egypt, they were promised by God that He will lead them to the promised land. The promised land was a place God gave to Abraham and all his descendants who became known as the Israelites. The promised land was called Canaan, and in Canaan, there was a prosperous city called Jericho. The day had finally come when God instructed the Israelites to go to Jericho and remove all of the people living there who did not worship the one true God. Before the Israelites could go to Jericho, they needed to collect information on the city. Watch the story below to learn more.
Why do you think Rahab helped the spies escape Jericho? Rahab was probably frightened of betraying the king but she had the courage to hide the spies until they were safely out of the city. Rahab did this because she trusted in God and knew the Israelites would succeed in taking the city. Even though Rahab was not an Israelite, God protected her because of her faith in Him. Rahab’s courage not only helped the Israelites but also saved her family. This story shows us that God will protect those who trust in Him.
