When describing God’s kingdom, Jesus once said, “It’s as if someone would scatter seed on the ground”. Jesus goes on to compare the kingdom of God to that of a mustard seed, the tiniest of all seeds, that when sown will grow into the largest of shrubs. This description of God’s kingdom shows us that it is ever-growing. It started off small but did not remain that way. All that needed to happen to grow the kingdom was for someone to plant the seeds. Jesus sowed the seeds and in doing so gave us the keys to God’s kingdom. As Christ-followers and kingdom-people, Jesus calls us to continue “scattering the seeds”.
Join Rev. Jake Steele and CUMC for week one of a three-week sermon series as we examine the gospel of Mark and learn when growing the kingdom of God, although our efforts may seem small, it’s a start.
