On the third Sunday of Advent we celebrate joy with the story of Mary discovering she would become the mother of the son of God. The thing is, Mary wasn’t all that joyful when she found this out. Mary’s life was turned upside down at the coming of this news. So why do we celebrate joy from this story? Because even though Mary was afraid and uncertain, she still sang with joy to the Lord.
