Hi Kids!

Last week we learned about the birth of Abraham and Sarah’s son, Isaac. For many years, Abraham and Sarah waited for God to fulfill His promise to them. God told Abraham that him and Sarah would be the descendants of many nations; more than Abraham could count the stars in the sky! With the birth of Isaac, God’s promise was fulfilled and the start of a new generation began to unfold. This week, we’re fast forwarding to Isaac all grown up. Watch the story below to learn more:

The story of Isaac and Rebekah is one of blessings from God. When Abraham’s servant came to the well in search of a bride for Isaac, he prayed to God that he would find a suitable woman. God answered that servant’s prayer and blessed him with Rebekah. Thus, Isaac and Rebekah were also blessed by God to fall in love and eventually have twin boys. What the story doesn’t mention is that Isaac and Rebekah had trouble having children and were both old when Rebekah became pregnant; just like Abraham and Sarah!

In the coming weeks, we will explore the blessings of God through prayer. If the servant hadn’t prayed to God, he may have never found Rebekah. Remember that Abraham and Sarah were to be the descendants of many nations, and this could not have happened if Isaac never found Rebekah and had sons of their own. It is important to pray to God as much as you can. God might not answer all your prayers, but keep in mind, God answers prayers and gives blessings when it is the right time to do so.
