Hi Kids!

From our lessons on Abraham and Sarah over the past several weeks, we learned that Abraham and Sarah put their faith in God because God promised them one thing. Do you remember what God promised them? That’s right, a son! We know that Abraham and Sarah were both really old and were childless, and the one thing they wanted the most was to have a child. After waiting many years, God’s promise was fulfilled. Watch the story below to learn more:

Last week we learned Sarah laughed when she overheard God’s messengers say that she would have a baby. Was Sarah laughing from joy or doubt? At that time she was probably doubtful. Now that Isaac is born, Sarah is now laughing with joy! Isaac was the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham. Through Isaac, Abraham would have many descendants. Abraham had to wait for the promise to be fulfilled, probably longer than he expected, but he never wavered in his faith.

Have you ever had to wait a long time for something you really wanted? How about waiting to play with a new toy once you get home, or waiting to eat your trick or treat candy after your parents checked it? There is always a reason for the wait. Waiting causes you to enjoy more of what you have safely, at the right place and right time. This is how God’s plan works. God fulfills His promises when we are ready for them whether we realize it or not.

Always remember, God keeps His promises!
