Jesus took three disciples up a high mountain where he was suddenly transfigured—his clothes became dazzling white and bright. No one had seen such an amazing light. As such, Peter, amazed at what he was seeing, wanted to pitch tent and stay.
But alas, pour down the halls of holy writ and it’s clear: The loftiest of lights have always left the mountain…
…and the Lord of Glory is still seeking lights–tabernacles–who have the moxie to be mobile in their faith, especially for the valleys. Might we be bearers?
On this Transfiguration Sunday, join Rev. Jake Steele and CUMC as they receive this word from the Gospel of Mark.
