Light and life go hand in hand.
You cannot have one without the other. In the opening chapters of the Gospel of John, a story is told of beginnings: Light and life. Jesus is known as the “Light of the World,” the Light that the darkness could not overcome. This Light points to life that is unparalleled in a world content to exist.
It’s in the light of Jesus that we understand our own lives—our existence, our purpose, our place, our own stories. And if we incline our ears and open our eyes enough, we’re apt to see the ways in which the hand of God moves in our midst.
