We’ve arrived at another critical moment in time when a country in crisis cries together…

…A crime has been committed; lives have been lost; bloodshed is abundant and we’re struck by the senselessness of it all.  Perhaps, as a person of faith or as a skeptic, questions have cropped up in the confines of our own hearts like weeds in a garden:  “If there is a God of love, where could God be in times like these?”

In the featured Gospel lesson, Jesus tells a parable about a vineyard and the tragedy that transpired in that vineyard are eerily similar to what we witnessed in Vegas.

Where is God in the midst of pain and suffering?  Does our Christian faith have anything to say in response to atrocities that take place around us? In this audio, join Rev. Jake Steele and CUMC and they wrestle with a difficult text in a difficult time among a people lacking in comfort and abundant with questions.

Indeed, our questions will remain, as will our pain and perplexities. This message isn’t meant to provide solutions or pat answers, but rather a window that gives us a way of looking at our faith in the midst of frailty and finding hope in a Lord who is resolved to roam in the red. May God richly bless you in your hearing and receiving.
