Brothers and Sisters of Christ,
Are you looking for ways to become more involved with your church family or give back to your church home? Then look no further! Here at Christ UMC volunteers are always in need to help make worship on Sunday mornings more seamless and enjoyable for everyone. Whether it be helping someone find their seat, lighting the altar candles, or leading the response to the Word, there are multiple opportunities to serve at both the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services.
Spirit Team
- Acolytes – for young people who have reached their seventh birthday: lights the altar candles during the beginning of service; assists with collecting tithes and offerings; extinguishes the altar candles at the end of service, and carries the light of Christ from the Sanctuary. *Brief training period required.
- Liturgists – leads the response to the Word; assists with collecting tithes and offerings.
- Ushers – greets congregants and escorts them to their seats; collects tithes and offerings.
- Altar Flowers – for anyone who would like to provide a bouquet to decorate the altar: for a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday, honoring a loved one, or simply to the glory of God. A sign-up sheet for altar flower donations is located in the Narthex at the church. You may also sign up for a donation by contacting the church office at 304-242-2455 or at christumcwheeling@gmail.com.

Children’s Church – “Hands Up, Hands On, Hands Out”
Volunteers are needed for leadership opportunities in working with the children during Children’s Church. This is an excellent way for one to get to know the children of the church on a different level. The Education Committee looks forward to seeing volunteers who are interested in taking on one or two Sundays of the church calendar to participate.
