Hi Kids!

Today we are going to hear a story about a famous building from the Bible. This particular building was located in the ancient, yet famous, city of Babylon. Babylon was a big, thriving city full of many prideful people. The people of Babylon were so prideful that they decided to construct the tallest building in the world so that everyone could see it from afar and admire their work. They named this building the Tower of Babel. Watch the story below by Crossroads Kids’ Club to learn more about the Tower of Babel.

As mentioned in the story, the people of Babylon didn’t think they needed help from God in constructing the Tower of Babel. They wanted to do it all on their own so they could take the credit for it. This angered God because the Babylonians didn’t build the tower to honor Him but rather themselves. God wanted the Babylonians to know they should always accept help from God because, without God’s guidance, people could end up doing terrible things. So God decided to punish the Babylonians for they were not honoring or obeying Him. God frustrated the Babylonians by making them speak different languages. The Babylonians then parted ways because they couldn’t work together anymore. This was all a part of God’s plan to not only humble the Babylonians but also to spread people across the world.

The lesson to take away from this story is to always accept God’s help. It’s important to know that God loves you and wants to guide you through your life. Also, always honor God. There will come times in your life where you reach certain goals like the Babylonians did with the construction of the Tower of Babel. When that happens, remember to thank God for He is the hand that will guide you through all your accomplishments.
