Hi, Kids!
Today, we’re learning about love. Not just any love, but God’s love. Paul, one of Jesus’ disciples, explains what love should look like for both the church and others in the community. Paul calls for everyone to love one another like we would our own family members, and to have honor and respect for those who are different from us. Most importantly, Paul says we are to live in peace with everyone. We are called to love. But love can be hard. It might seem impossible to show this kind of love all the time. How can we possibly always be loving? Watch the video from LifeKids below to learn more of Paul’s description of love and ways in which you can show love to others, even to your enemies.
The important thing to take away from this story is that while we can’t always show perfect love, we can choose one way we will offer our very best love. Love is not about perfection. Love is a practice. Jesus calls us to spread God’s love to everyone. It’s up to you how you want to show that love. This week, take some examples from the video on how to show love and exercise that in real life. You may be surprised to find how good you’ll feel for showing love to others and may even make a new friend from it.
For today’s activity, let’s dance and sing along to a song by Covenant Kids Worship titled “Crazy Love” below. This song will help to remind us to take our love everywhere and to show it to everyone, just like Jesus did.
