Hi Kids!

Today’s story is about the wonders of Jesus and his amazing power to heal. During biblical times, poor people who needed assistance would sit by the gates of the temple and ask for help from people who passed by. People sometimes would give them money, food, or clothes. People during this time were instructed by Jesus to give to everyone who asked. Who better to follow and do as Jesus instructed than his own disciples? Peter and John were one of Jesus’ twelve disciples. They were on their way to the temple when they encountered a man begging for help. Watch the story below to learn how Peter and John helped this man.

As you saw in the story, Peter and John helped the man in more ways than just providing him money; they healed him. Since Peter and John healed the man in Jesus’ name, it worked! Helping a person walk again in an instant is a miraculous action that only God and Jesus can achieve, but followers of Jesus can try to help anyone in need. Although we can’t miraculously heal someone, we can help with a small task or help one person at a time. The next time you see someone in need, ask yourself, “What would Jesus have me do?” The answer is to do your best and to help that person in any way you can.

There are two activities for you to do today. One is a crossword puzzle with questions from our story; find the correct answers to the questions to complete the puzzle. The other is a word scramble; unscramble the words to figure out a special phrase from the story. You can do one or both if you like! Download/print the pdf’s below to get started.
