Hi Kids!

Today we’re going to continue our story on Abraham. As we learned last week, God asked Abraham and his wife, Sarah, to go on a journey and move to a place far away. If they did so, God made them a promise that would make both of them very happy. Abraham had faith in God and did as he was told. Once Abraham and Sarah were settled in their new home, and after many years of waiting, they wondered about God’s promise to them and when it would be fulfilled. Watch the short clip below for more of the story:

Can you imagine waiting 25 years like Abraham did for someone to fulfill a promise they made to you? Most people would tend to lose faith in that person and think it will never happen. Abraham was not like most people, however. Because Abraham kept his faith in God, God did eventually fulfill His promise. Perhaps this is why God chose Abraham to be the “Father of Many Nations” because of Abraham’s strong faith.

God makes many promises and fulfills them all even if its not in the time, place, or manner in which you think He will. The next time you look at the night sky, watch the stars and try to count as many as you can. Think about what Abraham must have thought as he tried to count the stars. What promises has God made to you? As you go through life this week, look for stars. When you see a star, pause and remind yourself that God is faithful and God keeps promises.

Today’s activity includes a coloring page of Abraham counting the stars. Color the sheet to your liking and maybe add some more stars of your own! Download/print the color sheet below:
