Hi Kids!
Today we’re learning about another important person from the bible (who actually helped write it), named Paul. You probably heard of Paul before and you may even think he was one of Jesus’ disciples, but actually, Paul wasn’t one of Jesus’ followers until way after Jesus’ Resurrection. In fact, Paul didn’t very much like Jesus and his ways in the beginning, but something changed Paul’s mind. Watch Paul’s story below to learn more:
Although Paul was never one of Jesus’ main disciples, he was still important to Christianity and he ended up being an apostle to the nations! “What’s an apostle”, you may ask? An apostle is a teacher of sorts who goes on missions to all parts of the world and spreads the good news of Jesus Christ. One of the places Paul went to was Rome where he wrote letters about God, Jesus Christ, and Christian life.
If you flip through the bible you’ll see there is a very large chapter called “Romans”; this chapter includes all of Paul’s letters he wrote to the Romans. In one particular area of this chapter, Paul speaks of learning to accept others despite their differences (Romans 14: 1-12). To sum up this passage; no matter the difference between yourself and others: whether those differences be eating certain kinds of food, observing a different holiday than you, or basically living a completely different life; all people belong to God, and if God accepts all people then you should too.
As a quick recap to today’s lesson (thanks to Paul) we know that:
- Everyone belongs to God
- God accepts all people
- God loves all people (yes, even you!)
Here’s a fun song to sing and dance along to about God’s love for you:
