Hi Kids!
Today we’re learning about a very important person from the Bible. You may have already heard of him and his awesome doings (with the help of God); its Moses! Moses was an an important Jewish prophet who helped liberate his people (the Israelites) from a terrible life in Egypt. Indeed, Moses did great things and was a pretty significant person all his life even when he was just a baby! Watch the story below to learn the beginning of Moses:
Why was the pharaoh’s daughter by the river the day Moses was floating down it, and why did she decide to keep Moses? Do you think this was all an accident or coincidence? The thing is, it wasn’t! This was all a part of God’s plan. God knew Moses would grow up one day to do great things, and because of this, God protected Moses by placing the pharaoh’s daughter by the river and making her believe she wanted Moses. After all, since Moses was an Israelite boy who was never meant to live by the pharaoh’s orders, he would be the safest with his daughter.
So what’s our lesson about baby Moses? God has a plan for us and knows us even before we are born. God will also protect us in many unforeseeable ways and will always provide us with protection throughout our lives.
For today’s activity, we’re going to recreate baby Moses floating down the river.
