“Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything” – Plato
Plato was correct in that music plays an important part in our lives and brings a lot of joy to all people no matter what age, culture, or background. Music can make us feel a vast array of emotions, make us think and make us move to the rhythm.
But did you know music can also help us learn?
There is indeed a science behind the affects of music in young, developing minds, and through music-based learning children develop and improve in many different areas such as:
- Expressive and Receptive Language;
- Social-Emotional Development;
- Sensory Awareness;
- Fine Motor and Whole Body Movement;
- Cognition;
- and Musical Skills.
Kindermusik classes are all about music-based learning for small children (newborns to 5 years). Kindermusik started at CUMC last Fall with great success and we are pleased to announce the new Spring 2020 schedule: the weeks of January 7th through April 14th.
To learn how Kindermusik can be an aid in your child’s learning and development and to view the new schedule, please see below and contact our Kindermusik teacher, Judy Bischof, for any questions and to enroll.
