This summer, CUMC will hold discussions on Sundays in small adult group sessions on a variety of topics. During these classes discussion will be on:

  • Marriage and improving your relationship;
  • Keeping your faith in the 21st Century and the questions you may have;
  • Prioritizing your life and finding peace in a busy world;
  • Gaining insight on the church’s and community’s view on human sexuality. Note, discussion for this topic will be held in the fall, but is a recommended summer reading material in preparation for the class.

If you are interested in one of the first 3 topics above please join us on Sundays from 9:45-10:45 am. Nursery care is always available.

See below for more information on each class.

Connexions Young Adults:

After the children return to Sunday School in August, Connexions will offer a class that will encourage all couples to take a real look at their relationship and laugh while doing it. These video-based discussion sessions will open your eyes to insights you never knew about the opposite sex and will enrich your life together in biblically applicable ways. *This class will be held downstairs in the Fellowship Hall.

Inquirers Class:

Through August 25th, these DVD-based class sessions will open the door for questions you were always afraid to ask in church for fear of being labeled a heretic. Living the Questions will allow you to wrestle with 21st Century issues through progressive theological lenses and challenge you to embolden your spiritual life in community action. *This class will be held on the Main Level, Room #108.

Seekers for Christ:

Do you feel like your life’s pace is lived at a fever pitch? Has your spiritual life suffered as a result? If so, this class will be crucial. Through September 8th, this adult small group will provide you with engaging and practical Biblical insights for developing a prioritized life as well as finding peace in the midst of pressure and adversity. *This class will be held on the Main Level, Room #101.

Recommended Summer Reading at Home

In order to prepare for continued small group conversation regarding the church’s longstanding debate over human sexuality, this book resource will not only provide you an objective perspective on both traditional and progressive side, but it will also help you navigate the issue through a Wesleyan lens (using Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience).
